UNR Suspends Fraternity While Investigating Content Of Official Songbook

The University of Nevada, Reno has suspended a fraternity while it conducts an investigation into the content of official fraternity songs.

The Dean of Students sent a letter saying Tau Kappa Epsilon has been placed on an interim suspension after a membership book was found to contain songs that promote violence toward women and other fraternity men.

The songbook was first reported by the UNR student newspaper, who reported the document was addressed to those who are vying to be part of the fraternity and make references to drinking, sexual misconduct and assault.
