BLM To Unveil Plans For Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area

The Bureau of Land Management will unveil its plans for a permanent visitor center at Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area this week.

A public forum is scheduled Wednesday in Henderson for the bureau to collect input on a proposed $8 million project.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reportsthe new center will include an indoor space and small outdoor exhibit and amphitheater area along with trails and other facilities.

Officials said the construction could begin on the new visitor center in the spring and will be funded through a sale of public land near the edge of Henderson.
