Washoe County School Board Approves New School Visitor Policy

The Washoe County School Board approved a new policy that will require visitors to school properties – including parents – to provide a government-issued photo ID such as a driver's license or passport.

The ID will be used to conduct an immediate background check.

Principals would have the right to exclude people from campus based on the findings of the background check.

The new policy is part of a broader plan to establish a visitor management system.
