Secretary Of State's Office Says 40 Percent Of Nevada Voters Already Cast Ballots

About 40 percent of Nevada’s active voters cast their ballots in early voting, according to the Secretary of State's Office.

Details released Saturday broke down early turnout by party with Democrats leading Republicans in statewide turnout by a margin of 41 to 38 percent.

Independents, non-partisan voters and other parties made up the remaining 21 percent of the early turnout.

The early turnout figure was about thirteen percent less than the 53.2 percent of the 2016 presidential election year, but it’s significantly higher than the last midterm figure of 25 percent of voters.

In turnout in Clark County, Democrats outpaced Republicans by a margin of 45 to 34 percent.

Washoe County was much closer, with 40.5 percent of the early vote being cast by Democrats and 39 percent by Republicans.

Republicans outpaced Democrats in all other counties in Nevada and Carson City.
