CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's unemployment rate is down.

The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation says Nevada's unemployment rate dropped to 4.4 percent in October, down from 4.5 percent from September.

The department says the state's economy added 5,100 jobs in October, with Chief Economist David Schmidt saying the job growth extended across many industries, including construction, professional and business services and manufacturing.
