Three weeks after Dennis Hof died, he may still win the election for the State Assembly seat representing District 36.
The Pahrump Valley Times reports that Nye County Republican Central Committee Chairman Joe Burdzinski will actively seek an appointment to the seat in place of Hof if Hof receives more votes than Democrat Lesia Romanov.
Hof’s name must remain on the ballot according to Nevada law, and state Republicans have been encouraging voters to vote for Hof.

If Hof wins the election, the county commissions in District 36 will be required to appoint another Republican to serve his two-year term.
