CCSD Settles Lawsuit Over Hidden Cameras

The Clark County School Board approved a $250,000 settlement yesterday to end a lawsuit over hidden cameras and discrimination.

Elena Rodriguez sued the district in 2012, alleging she was discriminated against and demoted for bringing attention to hidden cameras at the Academy for Individualized Study High School.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports a judge dismissed all but one claim in 2016.

A jury sided with the district on that claim, but Rodriguez and her attorney, Tick Segerblom, appealed the case to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The district spent over $440,000 on attorney fees for the case from 2012 to February 2018.
