Soccer Star Ronaldo Denies Rape Allegations

In a Twitter post Wednesday, Cristiano Ronaldo has denied accusations of rape, calling it an "abominable crime." 

Las Vegas police have reopened a sexual assault investigation of Ronaldo. 

Kathryn Mayorga says she was attacked by him in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009.

The BBC reports that in 2010 Mayorga reached an out-of-court settlement with Ronaldo, involving a $375,000 payment in exchange that she never go public with the allegations.  Her lawyers are now seeking to declare the non-disclosure agreement void. 

Metro Police confirmed they investigated a complaint in June 2009, but said they had no suspect in the case.  A statement from Metro confirmed the case has been reopened with additional information provided.
