Prosecutors Turning Down Most Burning Man Traffic Stop Cases

Prosecutors in Washoe County are turning down the majority of cases stemming from traffic stops related to this year’s Burning Man Festival.

The prosecutors turned down the cases over concerns about probable cause, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.

During the festival in August, tribal police and federal agents stopped cars on their way to the festival area. Law enforcement said it was part of an effort to stop opioids on tribal lands.
