Tilman Fertitta, the owner of the Golden Nugget Casinos, has approached Caesars Entertainment about a possible merger.
Caesars has a market capitalization of $6.3 billion, and Fertitta’s net worth is pegged by Forbes magazine at $4.5 billion.
Fertitta’s holdings also include the Houston Rockets basketball team and entertainment company Landry’s. It is unclear whether Caesars will entertain the offer.
