Washoe County School District Replacing Snow Days With Digital Learning Days

The Washoe County School District is doing away with snow days.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reportsthat the district will replace snow days with what it calls “digital learning days.”

Assignments and lessons that are usually skipped during snow days when school is canceled will now be given to the district’s 64,000 schoolchildren to complete online.

The program will be tested by schools in October.

Schools are also being tasked with accommodating students who don’t have access to technology.

The district said accommodations will also be made for students who can’t do the work on the digital day.
