Las Vegas To Weigh Ban On Potential 'Weapons' At Protests

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas city officials are mulling a ban on objects at protests that could be considered potential weapons.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the Las Vegas City Council on Tuesday approved putting the proposed ordinance up for a future vote.

Under the ban, things such as bats, aerosol sprays and chains would be prohibited at any rallies, demonstrations or pickets. But it would not extend to firearms.

Las Vegas police requested the ban.

Clark County commissioners approved a similar measure in June.
