Nye County Revokes Assembly Candidate, Brothel Owner Hof's Brothel License

Nye County lawmakers have revoked Assembly candidate Dennis Hof’s brothel license at the Love Ranch.

The decision came after the brothel kingpin failed to apply for renewal and pay fees on time.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the decision marks the first time Nye County has permanently revoked a brothel license in more than a decade.

Nye County Commissioner Lorinda Wichman chairs the county’s Licensing and Liquor Board. She said Hof continues to violate county rules and disregard authority.

Wichman said Hof missed a deadline last year to submit Love Ranch’s renewal application and pay county-mandated fees.

Renewal licenses for Nye County’s three other brothels were approved Tuesday. The Love Ranch’s revocation takes immediate effect.

Hof’s brothel license was suspended by Nye County in February.
