California Wildfires Cause Poor Air Quality In Nevada

California is on track to have the worst wildfire season in the state’s history this year.

About 14,000 firefighters are struggling to curb 18 wildfires in the state.

The president of the California Fire Chiefs Association, Mark Hartwig, said fires are burning much more intensely and more quickly than ever.

In Northern California, the Mendocino Complex burned 457 square miles and destroyed 75 homes. Firefighting costs in the state have more than tripled over the last four years, to $773 million for the 2018 fiscal year.

Wildfires burning in California are significantly affecting air quality in Western Nevada.
