Police Investigating LVCVA Airline Gift Card Purchase

Las Vegas police are now conducting a criminal investigation into the handling of airline gift cards purchased by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports police are looking at possibly theft and embezzlement charges over $90,000 worth of Southwest Airlines gift cards.

Detectives requested records related to an audit that found the agency misused the airline cards. The board’s audit committee chairman Bill Noonan ordered the audit after auditors could not account for more than $50,000 of the cards.
