Motorcross Rider To Attempt Knievel Stunts

This weekend a daredevil motocross rider will attempt the same stunt Evel Knievel did 50 years ago.

Travis Pastrana of Annapolis, Maryland, will attempt to replicate the stunt and two others as he tries to jump the fountains at Caesars Palace in a televised tribute to the pop culture icon on Sunday.

Pastrana is an 11-time X Games gold medalist, who will attempt to jump 52 flattened cars, then 16 Greyhound buses in a parking lot behind Planet Hollywood and the Paris Las Vegas before attempting the flight over the fountains at Caesars.

Evil Knievel lived in Las Vegas for many years after the failed stunt at Caesars. He died when he was 69 in 2007.
