Judge Orders Release Of Nevada School District Records

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A judge says a northern Nevada school district should turn over records from an investigation into bullying and harassment allegations.

District Judge Jerome Polaha issued his ruling in response to a petition from the Reno Gazette-Journal, which had sought the records from the Washoe County School District.

The newspaper reports it was seeking documents related to an agreement with a human resources firm the district hired to investigate complaints within the district's special education department.

Also included are financial agreements between the district and the firm and reports the firm created and delivered to the district.

The school district is considering an appeal.

The case dates back to early 2017 when the newspaper learned the district spent $48,000 to hire the human resources firm Solutions at Work to investigate work-related complaints.
