Board Of Regents Boosts Funding For Higher Education In Nevada

The Nevada Board of Regents on Friday approved an operating budget that brings funding levels for public higher education institutions to its highest level in ten years.

The 2019 to 2021 Biennial Operating Budget and Supplemental Request was set at $1.5 billion.

It includes $14.3 million in funding for UNLV's School of Medicine, a statewide summer school initiative meant to address STEM business and industry workforce needs, and a boost in faculty salaries.
