Strip Club, Dancers Sue City Of Reno For Violating Civil Rights

A strip club in Reno and more than 150 dancers have sued the city of Reno, alleging the city has violated their civil rights by targeting them with undercover police stings.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the lawsuit was filed by Fantasy Girls and a group of anonymous dancers and is the latest in an ongoing battle between the city and the strip clubs in which the city is trying to force the clubs to move out of downtown.

The group argues Reno is invading the dancers’ privacy with pervasive surveillance from undercover police officers and a private investigator the city hired last year.

The city council is also considering zoning changes and stricter regulations that would essentially force the businesses to relocate.
