Reno City Attorneys Issue Opinion On Historic Homes

Two assistant city attorneys in Reno have issued an opinion advising the city not to act on a proposal to move a set of historic homes in the city’s Gateway District to Evans Park.

The attorneys said that the proposal, which has been put forward by area historic preservationists, would violate Evans Park’s deed restriction to remain a park.

The Reno City Council can override this opinion, which critics say is faulty.  UNR wants to move the homes in order to construct a new business building.
