LAS VEGAS (AP) — A resource center for victims of the Oct. 1 shooting on the Las Vegas Strip has begun hosting an exhibit of hand-made quilts donated by craftspeople in the U.S. and other countries.
The Vegas Strong Resiliency Center display opened Monday at the Clark County Government Center. It runs through July 20.
County spokeswoman Stacey Welling says the Las Vegas Modern Quilt Guild organized the campaign to collect material for about 250 quilts to provide comfort and support to victims of the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
The center plans to raffle quilts to survivors and victim family members after the exhibit closes.
The center is an ongoing program to provide support and referrals for people affected by the shooting. Survivors have until Oct. 1, 2018, to sign up with the Nevada Victims of Crime Program.
