Las Vegas Officials Drafting Rules For The Possibility Of Marijuana Lounges

Officials with the city of Las Vegas are drafting rules for allowing the creation of standalone marijuana lounges, if state laws on public consumption change.

The lounges would be a place where pot could be used socially but patrons couldn't buy marijuana there.

While recreational marijuana has been legal in the state for a year now, visitors to Las Vegas don’t have many options for where they can use pot since state law prohibits public consumption and it’s also not allowed in hotels and casinos.

The proposal would also bar consumption in an outdoor setting.

Denver is the only city in the country that allows public consumption of marijuana.
