Wolfson became the winner outright with no opponent from another party seeking the seat in November.

Wolfson was a criminal defense attorney and Las Vegas City Council member before he was appointed district attorney in January 2012 after the resignation of his predecessor. He easily won a four-year term in 2014.

He faced a surprise challenge from criminal defense lawyer Robert Langford after the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Wolfson declined to prosecute his top campaign aide and kept her on the county payroll after she returned $42,000 pilfered from his 2014 campaign.
