5 Men Face Hate Crime Charges After Attack In Hotel Parking Garage

Five men were arrested this weekend for a hate crime after attacking a gay man in a hotel parking garage.

The attack happened Sunday evening at the Hard Rock Hotel, where the men ambushed and physically attacked a man while calling him homophobic slurs.

Each faces a hate crime charge, which is a gross misdemeanor. Police arrested each of them on an additional battery charge, but the district attorney’s office declined to pursue the charge.

The man and his family had a cabana at Rehab Beach Club next to the five attackers.

As the man and his family were leaving the club they were approached and surrounded by the hostile group where the man was pushed to the ground and had to be treated at Desert Springs Hospital.

The five men posted bond and were released from the Clark County Detention Center.
