An Air Force pilot who died when his F-16 jet crashed at the Nevada Test and Training Range was honored Thursday on the floor of the Senate. Major Stephen Del Bagno’s Fighting Falcon - known as Thunderbird 4 - went down during a routine aerial demonstration April 4.

Following the crash, Governor Brian Sandoval ordered flags flown at half-staff.

At a memorial service at the pilot’s high school in Santa Clarita earlier this week, more than 1,000 people showed up to commemorate his achievements.
