Tesla is temporarily stopping production of its Model 3 electric car at its Fremont, California assembly plant.
The company says the four-to-five day shutdown is intended to resolve problems that have contributed to delays in getting the cars to hundreds of thousands of reservation holders.
The production plan also includes periods of planned downtime for ‘Gigafactory 1’ – the lithium-ion battery factory located east of Reno.

The downtimes aren’t intended to have an effect on the company’s current production targets for the car.
