A family-owned waste management company in Las Vegas is taking on the powerful Republic Services in court.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Simple Environmental Services Group filed a lawsuit against Republic Services, alleging that the trash pickup service has been trying to push them out of business by charging a premium to use the only landfill in the Las Vegas area – which Republic happens to own.
Republic Services has an exclusive franchise agreement with all municipalities in Southern Nevada.
