Report: Unemployment Claims Lowest In 12 Years

A jobs report out Wednesday shows unemployment claims in Nevada are the lowest they’ve been in 12 years at 4.9 percent.

The Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation says the state added 6,600 jobs last month, marking the most significant jump since September 2016.

The number of initial unemployment claims recently plateaued around a yearly average of 11,000 claims per month, the lowest figure seen since October 2006.
