Fund For Mass Shooting Victims Still Distributing Money

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A fund created to assist victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting is not done distributing all the money because of challenges verifying some applications.

The committee overseeing the Las Vegas Victims' Fund had hoped to distribute all funds by March 31.

The group is distributing the $31.4 million under three categories of applicants: Victims with permanent brain damage or paralysis, as well as relatives of those killed; individuals who were hospitalized; and people who received medical care on an emergency or outpatient basis on or before Oct. 10.

The committee says a handful of applications from the more than 300 people who said they received care on an emergency or outpatient basis have not been verified by medical providers.

The committee says it cannot determine the amount they will each receive until all applications have been verified.
