CCSD Requires New Training On Student/Employee Communication

The Clark County School District is rolling out a new mandatory training for its employees on how to maintain appropriate relationships with students.

The mandate comes at a time when there have been high numbers of teachers and faculty arrested for sex-related incidents with students at CCSD.

There have been five arrests this school year, and 13 arrests last school year. The school board approved a policy September 28 and employees have until March 23 to complete the video training.

The policy also requires that all communication between students and teachers outside the classroom take place on loggable platforms which create a record of the conversation.
