Utah Governor Pushing For More Funding For Tourism Programs

This week kicked off the 2018 legislative session in Utah, and Governor Gary Herbert is making a quick push for one of the state’s largest industries: Tourism.

Herbert is asking for $22.5 million to go to the Tourism Marketing Performance Fund, which will go specifically toward promoting rural areas of the state.

Tourists spend $8.4 billion in 2016, which generated nearly $1.23 billion in state and local tax revenues.
