Rep. Rosen Introduces Bill Aimed At Improving Veteran's Health Care

U.S. Representative Jacky Rosen filed a bill in Congress Thursday that seeks to improve veterans access to health care.

It would specifically target veterans in rural states like Nevada, and improve upon the Veterans Choice Program which was established in 2014.

The goal is to cut down wait times at veterans facilities and allow vets to receive medical care from a community provider if they live more than 40 miles from a federal facility.

Rosen, a Democrat, co-sponsored the bill with Republican Walter Jones from North Carolina.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are more than 226,000 veterans living in Nevada.
