The Nevada Department of Transportation says the next section of Interstate 11 will open Saturday morning.
The opening is five days earlier than originally planned.
The two-mile-long northbound stretch of freeway runs from Foothills Drive to the U.S. Highway 93 interchange in Boulder City.

The lanes are part of the $83 million first-phase of Interstate 11 with the remaining 12.5-miles scheduled to open by October.
This phase of the new highway is expected to relieve congestion and enhance commerce between Nevada and Arizona.
