New Rules Worry Marijuana Growers

Marijuana growers in the state are worried about their businesses.

Following the state tax commission’s passage of permanent regulations on recreational marijuana Tuesday, cultivators are saying dispensaries have the economic advantage.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that cultivators made their case to the commission Tuesday, asking them to consider changing language in the regulations.

They said they have supplied the medical marijuana market with Nevada-grown marijuana for years.

The new regulations, they say, could shut cultivators out of the industry.

There is no cap on dispensaries getting their own cultivation licenses, which could be cause for growers to shutter their operations.
