Nevada Population Just Shy Of 3 Million Mark

The U.S. Census Bureau puts Nevada's estimated 2017population at just shy of the 3 million mark.

The bureau says Nevada's estimated population of 2,998,039 reflects an annual growth rate of 2 percent. That growth rate is second only to Idaho's rate of 2.2 percent.

Behind Nevada and Idaho was Utah with a growth rate of 1.9 percent. According to the Census Bureau, Nevada and Idaho's growth is linked to domestic migration, but Utah's growth is due to more births than deaths in the state.
