Nevada Counties Join Forces On Sage Grouse And Land Use Questions

Seventeen of Nevada’s counties are joining forces to tell the U.S. Forest Service what they want from a land management plan that includes the conservation of the sage grouse.

The Elko Daily Free Press reportsthe Forest Service is seeking public comment through January 19 regarding land management issues that could change the way lands are managed in many Western states, including Nevada.

The Nevada Association of Counties submitted comments to the federal agency at the start of the year, outlining six specific issues that Nevada counties would like addressed.
