Las Vegas Records Nearly 4,000 Riders Per Month On Free Bus

LAS VEGAS (AP) — City officials say nearly 4,000 people each month traveled on the free shuttle bus serving downtown Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the city's Downtown Loop began in late June as a six-month pilot program.

The August through October city figures show the number of riders increased by about 100 from month to month.

The city partnered with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada and Keolis Transit to launch the program. The city paid $275,000 to operate the service for the first six months.

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman says the numbers show that the service is valued, and she would like to the free shuttle continue.
