Gaming Control Board To Hold First Meeting Of New Year

The Nevada Gaming Control Board will meet Wednesday for its first meeting of the new year.

The gaming regulatory board will be without a chief since the former chairman A.G. Burnett tendered his resignation last month.

Governor Brian Sandoval has yet to appoint a replacement for the seat, but designated board member Shawn Reid as acting chairman.

The board will meet for two days with only two members in attendance. The Nevada Independent reports it’s common for the governor to select one of the two remaining members of the board to serve as chair and then appoint a new person to join the board as the third member.
