The family filed a lawsuit against the Lyon County School District and the City of Yerington on Thursday for violations of the Civil Rights Act.

The lawsuit seeks to order the school district to comply with anti-bullying laws and have the Yerington Police Department investigate the threats.

The school district said in a statement that student and staff safety was its top priority.
