The Bureau of Land Management is moving to create new management plans for the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments.
The St. George Spectrum reports the BLM began taking public comment this week about the new plans which are set to go into effect under order by President Donald Trump.
Grand-Staircase Escalante is supposed to be divided into three smaller monuments, and Bears Ears was cut by about 85 percent into two smaller monuments.
