Reid Influenced UFO Program Money

The Pentagon has confirmed the existence of a program investigating reports of UFOs.

A New York Times reportsays the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program began in 2007, and it was funded largely due to the efforts of former Nevada Senator Harry Reid.

Much of the $22 million spent annually on the program went to a research company owned by Las Vegas entrepreneur Robert Bigelow, who is currently working with NASA to produce expandable craft for humans to use in space.

The program was officially shuttered in 2012, although its backers say program officials continue to investigate incidents brought to them by service members, while performing other Defense Department duties.
