Northern Nevada Lawmakers Raise Questions About Promised Raiders' Practice Facility

Northern Nevada lawmakers say that since last year’s vote to build a new football stadium to lure the Oakland Raiders to Las Vegas, they haven’t heard anything from the Raiders or Las Vegas Sands about an offer mentioned before the vote – bringing a team training facility to Reno.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that the Raiders are instead continuing talks to move at least some practice operations to Henderson.

Henderson city spokesman David Cherry said the proposed Henderson facility would be located near McCarran Airport on St. Rose Parkway, several miles south of the Strip.

The Raiders are expected to begin the 2020 season in Las Vegas, and a team spokesman declined to comment on whether Reno was a part of its relocation plans.
