Governor Brian Sandoval has joined a bipartisan group of 11 governors asking Congressional leadership to protect Dreamers.
Sandoval and others including Utah Governor Gary Herbert, Ohio Governor John Kasich and Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper sent the letter to the minority and majority leaders of the house and senate asking for a bipartisan solution to allow the Dreamers to remain in the United States.
An estimated 800,000 people reside in the U.S. because of a program called the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA.
That program has been in a state of uncertainty after the Trump administration announced they would no longer accept applications.
Five lawsuits have been filed against the Trump administration’s decision, and today could face a key hearing in a federal court in San Francisco.
