Weapons Training At Nellis Expected To Increase Noise Levels Near Base

Nellis Air Force officials have said noise over the valley will likely increase over the next few weeks, as the Air Force conducts a weapons training.

More than 80 aircraft are scheduled to take off from Nellis twice a day and stay in the air for up to five hours.

The training began Monday and will run through December 13. Nighttime launches are also possible for aircrews to train for after- dark combat operations.

The training is the final phase of a six-month Air Force Weapons School course.
