Washoe County Health District Warning Of More Cases Of Viral Meningitis

With the holidays approaching, a recent spike in cases of viral meningitis in Washoe County could go even higher.

The Washoe County Health District reports that of the 47 cases they’ve seen since July, the majority are school-aged children – and many of them ended up with a visit to the hospital.

The health district cautions that with more social events occurring over the holidays, the outbreak could continue to spread.
