Tesla Blames Gigafactory Problems For Model 3 Delay

Electric car maker Tesla reported questions about production, labor unrest and other issues with its third-quarter earnings Wednesday.

Tesla introduced its lower-cost Model 3 in July, and said it had 500,000 people on a waiting list for the car.

But Tesla produced just 220 Model 3s in the third quarter, far lower than the 1,500 promised by CEO Elon Musk.

Tesla said it now expects to make 20,000 Model 3s per month by the end of 2018′s first quarter. Musk had initially set a target of December for that production.

Musk said a supplier to the battery factory was partly to blame for the delays.
