Tribal lawmakers in Arizona said no this week to building a multi-million dollar aerial tram to take paying visitors to a riverside boardwalk in the Grand Canyon.
The Navajo Nation Tribal Council voted 16-2 in opposition to the legislation.
It was the first time the full council had taken up the measure since it was first introduced last year.

Reasons for the opposition included public safety demands, infrastructure requirements in surrounding areas and that the project would mar sacred land.
