LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada woman who has served jail time for the death of a man she says she did not kill may get a new murder trial.
KVVU-TV reported Tuesday that 34-year-old Kirstin Blaise Lobato was imprisoned and convicted for the 2001 killing and sexual mutilation of Duran Bailey, a Las Vegas homeless man.
Lobato has maintained that she did not know Bailey and was in her hometown of Panaca, about three hours northeast of Las Vegas, when Bailey was killed.

More than 14 witnessed supported Lobato's claim in their testimony.
The Nevada Supreme Court has ruled twice that there were problems with Lobato's conviction.
Judge Stefany Miley is expected to decide whether Lobato will receive a new trial in the coming days.
