State Supreme Court Denied Death Row Inmate's Appeal

The Nevada Supreme Court has denied an appeal sought by a man on death row for a 1988 quadruple homicide in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the high court upheld the convictions and death sentences Thursday for Donte Johnson.

Johnson has been on death row at Ely State Prison since he was found guilty in 2005 for the killings of four people.

Police say the men were bound with duct tape while Johnson and two others searched their east valley home. They say Johnson shot each man in the back of the head before the robbers made off with about $240, a pager and a video game system.

Johnson's lawyer argued unsuccessfully that the jury selection process was flawed because there was an under-representation of African Americans.
