Settlement Payout To Fund Police Overtime

Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt says he’s earmarking money from a recent multi-state pharmaceutical settlement to support overtime pay for Las Vegas police.

The Nevada Independent reports Laxalt announced Wednesday he’ll allocate $600,000 to fund overtime pay for Las Vegas Metro police after their response to the October 1 mass shooting.

The police department expects the cost of overtime for officers responding to the tragedy will amount to about $3 million.
